The Business Accelerator: Building Leaders, Creating Jobs
At The Leader Team, our vision is simple but powerful: We want to see people live well and lead well.
We do this by empowering enterprising leaders and helping build sustainable businesses that create jobs and fight poverty in Nigeria. Our key tools are the programs we run; one is our Mentorship Program and the second is our Business Accelerator Program. The mentorship program has completed three years and is currently mid-season for year four. In this time, at least seventy small scale businesses have been awarded asset grants and been equipped with leadership and business principles to help them succeed in diminishing the cycle of poverty in their communities.
The Business Accelerator is a three-year coaching and training program designed to support the SHINE Mentorship Program graduates in scaling their businesses. Each year, 10 alumni are carefully selected to embark on a relational journey of support and empowerment. Entrepreneurs receive hands-on coaching, access to expert-led business labs, and ongoing support as they grow their enterprises.
Why it matters:
The businesses we train don't just succeed, they become partners in decreasing unemployment and underemployment in Nigeria. As these businesses grow, they create jobs, reduce poverty, and become leaders for good in their communities.

To be considered for the next cohort, you must meet the following criteria:
You are still actively running your business full-time
Your business has shown steady growth
You currently have paid staff or apprentices
You track your finances and can present clear record
You embody the SHINE principles in how you do business
Your business is scalable and has strong potential for impact
You’re ready to commit to continued mentorship and accountability
You are passionate about making a positive impact in your community
